Here's what a full front yard overhaul looks like when everything is planned together from the start. The old layout had scattered rock borders, overgrown ornamental grasses, and a dated paver driveway that didn't match the architecture of the home. Nothing was wrong with it, exactly - it just wasn't doing the property any favors.
We came in with a clear plan. New concrete driveway. Block retaining walls to create defined planting beds. Fresh landscape plantings selected to complement the modern lines of the house. And low-voltage lighting built right into the wall system so the property looks just as good at 9pm as it does at noon. That's the goal with every design we put together - day and night curb appeal, not just one or the other.
The retaining walls are doing a lot of heavy lifting here, both literally and visually. They separate the planting areas from the driveway with a sharp, clean edge. The wall cap ties it all together and gives the beds a finished, intentional look. Inside those beds, we layered in a mix of shrubs, ornamental grasses, and small trees to add depth without making it feel cluttered.
The concrete driveway ties the whole front of the property together. Wide, smooth, and properly jointed - it gives the home a strong, polished base that the old paver layout just couldn't deliver. When the lighting kicks on after dark, the whole front of the house comes alive. The warm glow across the wall face and plantings makes the architecture stand out in a way most properties never achieve.
This kind of work is about more than aesthetics. A well-designed front yard improves how the property functions - better drainage management, easier maintenance, and a cohesive layout that makes sense. When the retaining walls, concrete, plantings, and lighting are all designed to work together, the result speaks for itself.
